What's Healing Got to do With It??

There’s lots of “lingo” out there: releasing, energy, balancing, and many others. Who really cares about these words especially when all you want is for life to SLOW down … or speed up…or maybe, just be meaningful. It all sounds mystically wonderful, these words of releasing, energy, balancing and oh yeah, let’s not forget spirit, spirit guides, energy field!

Here’s the deal, whether you believe in life after death, reincarnation, or “when it’s over it’s over”, the bottom line is, all that matters is what you put into life right now. It's not what you think you will get 5 years down the line, or if you just put up with this thing for awhile longer you will get your just rewards. “Down the line” may never happen, and waiting for your just rewards means you are sacrificing something in the now in hopes of something later. My thinking is this, when you take your last breath, wouldn’t it be nice to take it with no regrets? That means creating a life that is as good as you can stand it!

If you want your life to be more than an ideology, you have to live it. Walk your talk. It’s hard to have regrets if you are walking your talk. The challenge is, we have learned to double bind ourselves, believe sacrifice is a necessary component for eventual peace and happiness, or at times even let fear guide our decisions and actions. After all, we are human. We have feelings and we have learned lots of things on our journey: pain exists, some people don’t have your best interest at heart, not everyone is forgiving, etc.

Here is where healing comes in. Most people think of “healing” as a way to cure or intervene in the course of disease, or as a way to prevent illness or eradicate disease. Healing is not an end result; it is a process that involves an active positive response to distress where you take responsibility for yourself and your life. The distress may take many forms: physical, emotional, mental, and for some spiritual. The "responsibility" is for you to make your own happiness and wellbeing a primary goal in your life.

If you want your life to feel good to you, you must be an active participant in it. You have to be conscious of how you move in this world, what gives you power and what makes you feel drained. When life doesn't feel good and rich to you, the process has gone amuck. And when this happens distress happens. It doesn’t have to be anything major. It can be as common as getting to work late, having too many calls to return, and getting stuck in rush hour on the way home. It just doesn’t feel good. If you are active in the positive response to you and your world, then you are likely engaged in healing. All the “lingo” does is provide descriptions of ways to heal or of the necessary components to healing. You can take it or leave the lingo– or describe your experience(s) however you wish. The important thing is that you are more conscious of yourself, your energy, your needs, and that you work towards "healing". Make taking care of yourself and expanding your awareness your primary goals, and you are already on the road to healing.

Warm Wishes for Health & Happiness!
